Tuition Outpaces State Support at U. of California

The University of California will receive more money this year from tuition than from the State of California, the Los Angeles Times reported. University officials called the numbers a big shift for the traditionally well-supported system. Universities in many states have already passed a similar milestone; Washington’s universities, for instance, started depending primarily on tuition during the 2009-10 academic year.
