Transgender Couple Subpoenaed in Pitt Bomb-Threats Case

A transgender couple who live together have been subpoenaed by the FBI to appear before a federal grand jury that has been investigating the bomb threats that have plagued the University of Pittsburgh since February, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reported on Saturday. Seamus Johnston, 22, said he was until recently an honors student at the university, until he was expelled in January over a dispute over which locker room he should use. Mr. Johnston was born a woman but identifies as a man. Katherine Anne McCloskey, 56, is an alumna of the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown. She was born a man and has been vocal in transgender causes in the community, the Post-Gazette said. The Wall Street Journal reported on Friday that the bomb threats had spread to other colleges in the region, including the Community College of Allegheny County and Point Park University.
