Those Charged in Florida A&M Hazing Case Were All Students

All of the 13 people charged in the hazing death last fall of a band member at Florida A&M University were students at the time of incident, according to Gretl Plessinger, a spokeswoman at the Florida Department of Law Enforcement. After the charges were announced, on Wednesday, and prosecutors refused to identify the accused until they were arrested, there was some speculation about whether university officials might be among them.

(Updated, 5:49 p.m., 5/6/2012) Eleven of the accused face felony hazing charges, and all of them have turned themselves in to local law-enforcement agencies, the department said on Sunday. Two other students face misdemeanor charges.
