Texas Tech President Is Top Choice to Lead U. of Alabama

Guy Bailey, who has served as president of Texas Tech University since 2008, is the leading candidate for the presidency at the University of Alabama at Tuscaloosa, according to the Associated Press. He will meet with trustees, who named him their favorite contender by a wide margin, at a public interview on Wednesday. Mr. Bailey, an Alabama alumnus, would fill the role vacated by Robert E. Witt, who was named chancellor of the University of Alabama system in March. Judy L. Bonner has served as interim president since then.
