Sallie Mae Spent $3.4-Million Last Year on Lobbying

Sallie Mae, the nation's largest student-lending company, is a major political contributor, with the Center for Responsive Politics noting yesterday that the company spent $3.4-million on lobbying in 2008 and this year has donated to both Democrats and Republicans.
