Tension between the mayor of Washington, Adrian M. Fenty, the D.C. City Council, and leaders of the University of the District of Columbia have resulted in an impasse in the selection of new trustees for the only public college in the nation’s capital. According to The Washington Post, two seats on the board are vacant, the terms of four trustees expired at midnight last night, and four more lapse on November 11, leaving 10 openings on the 15-member board.
