Following reports that she donated money to an organization that supports political candidates who favor abortion rights, a trustee of the University of Notre Dame resigned on Wednesday, the Chicago Tribune reported. Roxanne Martino, a 1977 Notre Dame graduate and head of a major hedge-fund management firm, said the controversy surrounding her support of Emily’s List undermined her ability to be an effective trustee. News of her contributions was first reported by the Cardinal Newman Society, a Roman Catholic watchdog group.
