September 22, 2011, 11:33 am

The Education Department’s statistical arm has released a new forecast suggesting that total college enrollment will increase by 13 percent from 2009 to 2020. Enrollments are expected to grow the fastest for students age 25 to 34, at 21 percent, and enrollment for Hispanic students will increase by 46 percent. The report, from the National Center for Education Statistics, projects that enrollment for women will increase by 16 percent, doubling the pace of enrollment growth for men and further increasing the gender gap. Doctorates are expected to grow the fastest of all degree types, with a 57-percent increase over all and a 70-percent jump in degree attainment for women.

so WHEN is the gov’t going to do something to help boys in school??? Will it ever happen? I guess we will have to wait until men represent such a minority on college campus that our “equal” (Female only) gov’t will eventually have to do something. So in other words when men represent 10-20% of college attendance something might be done to help them.

Given that the overwhelming majority of this country’s legislators are male (even more apparent when compared to other nations), perhaps this is a question you should put to them. They are the “gov’t” you refer to, after all.
