As The Chronicle reported last week, universities across the country are building up their risk-management infrastructure to, among other things, reduce their legal and insurance liability and ensure compliance with a host of state and federal regulations. Now United Educators, an insurance company that serves hundreds of colleges, universities, and other educational institutions, has published “Threat Assessment Teams for Troubled Students: Putting the Pieces Together,” a guide to best practices in setting up a system for dealing with such students.
