The NCAA’s Division I Infractions Appeals Committee has reversed a penalty the association imposed this year on Eastern Washington University’s football program for allowing more than a dozen ineligible athletes to practice. The university successfully appealed the Division I Committee on Infractions’ ban on postseason competition, arguing that the football program had not received a competitive advantage from the illicit practices, as the infractions committee had alleged. Several other penalties, including a three-year probation, still stand.
