Multiyear-Scholarship Option Upheld by NCAA

Major-college athletic departments will be allowed to offer multiyear scholarships to players, after an override vote by Division I colleges narrowly failed. Opponents of the legislation, which was approved by the NCAA Division I Board of Directors last October, needed a five-eighths majority of Division I colleges and conferences to overturn it. The opposition vote fell two votes short, with 330 colleges voting.

Scholarships should be available to any or all athletes SO LONG AS (1) THEY ARE QUALIFIED STUDENTS AND (2) HAVE PROVEN FINANCIAL NEED! It’s that simple and that complex… What an idiot am I to make such a naive statement!
