Six of Utah’s eight public-college presidents have said they will give all or a portion of their recent pay raises to scholarships or academic programs, and another has said he will not take the raise until the state’s Legislature approves salary increases for faculty and staff members, The Herald Journal reports. Cynthia A. Bioteau, president of Salt Lake Community College, is the lone president who has not yet commented on how she will use her raise. A spokeswoman for the college, however, told the Herald Journal that Ms. Bioteau had donated money to scholarships in every year of her presidency.
