Los Angeles Prosecutor Investigates Spending by College Foundation’s Director

The Los Angeles County district attorney’s office is investigating whether the head of a foundation that raises money for the Los Angeles Trade-Technical College misused foundation money that she spent on club memberships, golf outings, and a car allowance and bonuses for herself, according to the Los Angeles Times. The newspaper says the salary and expenses of the director, Rhea Chung, “dwarfed the amount the foundation gave out in scholarships to students,” but Ms. Chung says her expenditures were all approved by the college’s president, Roland Chapdelaine, and the foundation’s board. The college is part of the Los Angeles Community College District.
