The governor of Kansas, Mark Parkinson, has agreed to veto a provision in the state budget that could cost higher education millions of dollars, The Eudora News reports. The amendment was supposed to add $3.6-million to the higher-education budget, but due to an error, it lowered the budget by that amount. That drop would make Kansas colleges ineligible for an additional $40-million in federal stimulus dollars.
