U. of Chicago Police Officers Break Up Protest at Medical Center

Five members of the group behind the protest had planned to stay behind, and probably be arrested, when most of the group would inevitably be kicked off the private property. According to one of the organizers, however, before they had a chance to leave peacefully, University of Chicago police officers took out their batons and started shoving protesters toward the door.

Protesters who want a trauma center on the South Side of Chicago marched into the University of Chicago’s new $700-million medical center Sunday afternoon unannounced. Four people were arrested. … Medical center officials have said establishing a trauma center would come at the expense of other vital hospital programs.
