Campus officials said on Tuesday that they had followed protocol in their brief affiliation with Quazi Mohammad Rezwanul Ahsan Nafis, the former student from Bangladesh who was charged last week in connection with a plot to destroy the Federal Reserve Bank of New York. Mr. Nafis was enrolled at the university in the spring 2012 semester and transferred his records to an institution in New York in July. Rep. Jo Ann H. Emerson, a Republican whose district includes the university, is among a group of lawmakers calling for investigations of how international students are tracked, though she said on Tuesday that she didn’t believe the university was at fault.
