Police Officer Convicted of Beating U. of Md. Student Gets Home Detention

James Harrison Jr. was convicted in October of second-degree assault in connection with the filmed beating of a University of Maryland at College Park student during a basketball postgame celebration in 2010. Judge Beverly J. Woodard also ordered Harrison to undergo 18 months of unsupervised probation after he is released from home detention.
