Pa. Legislator Sues NCAA Over Penn State U. Fine

Sen. Jake Corman, a Republican who represents State College, Pa., and is chairman of the Senate’s Appropriations Committee, objects to letting the NCAA decide how to spend the $60-million sanction, saying that overseeing state spending is his job and the legislature’s. The lawsuit follows one filed this week against the NCAA by the governor of Pennsylvania.


Even though the NCAA intends to wrest such a large sum of Pennsylvania public funds, it has refused to submit to any control by Pennsylvania elected officials and refused to commit more than 25 percent of those public funds to Pennsylvania causes.”
