2 Workers Are Killed After Garage Collapses at College in Florida

The five-story garage, under construction on Miami Dade College’s campus in Doral, Fla., “fell to the ground like a house of cards,” one witness said. One worker was still trapped in a truck in the rubble on Wednesday night, and another remained missing. As many as 10 others were taken to hospitals with injuries. No students were injured. The victims were among the electricians, welders, painters, and other construction workers who were inside the garage at the time, a college spokesman, Juan Mendieta, said. The campus has been evacuated as heavy equipment and rescue units have been brought in.
