India’s minister in charge of higher education has proposed creating a $2.08-billion National Higher Education Finance Corporation that would be able to finance the establishment of new universities, as well as help improve the infrastructure of existing institutions, The Times of India reported. Ministry officials said the proposed corporation was at the top of the ministry’s agenda.
