John F. Burness, who was Duke University’s senior vice president for public affairs and government relations for 17 years, has been named interim president of Franklin & Marshall College. Mr. Burness is an alumnus of the Pennsylvania college, and has served on its governing board for seven years. He replaces John A. Fry, who was recently named president of Drexel University.





If this is the person who presided over the Lacrosse mess and the mob mentality that was permitted to exist – not sure the title “Guru” is accurate.
He was at Cornell before he went to Duke and was very adept at PR.
Does this mean that F & M will now have super basketball teams?
I don’t think Coach K is part of the deal, #3. I doubt F&M could afford him, and I also doubt that he’d want to make that particular trade.
