Two former deans at West Virginia University’s business school filed documents in federal court Friday that aim to keep alive their claims against the university in the wake of the 2008 scandal over a degree awarded to the daughter of the man who was then the state’s governor. The Associated Press reports that R. Stephen Sears, who was dean of the school, and Cyril Logar, the former associate dean, want to rejoin a complex case in which the university’s former provost, Gerald Lang, reached a settlement with the university last week. The case alleges that the university acted without due process when it investigated the scandal.
