Pasi Sahlberg, director of Finland’s Center for International Mobility and Cooperation, has been awarded the 2013 Grawemeyer Award in Education, the University of Louisville announced on Wednesday. Mr. Sahlberg, a former teacher whose agency is part of Finland’s Ministry of Education and Culture, was honored for his 2011 book, Finnish Lessons: What Can the World Learn From Educational Change in Finland? The $100,000 honor is the fourth Grawemeyer Award announced this week.
