Agents of the U.S. Department of Education raided two campuses of a for-profit college in Texas on Wednesday, seizing files related to accusations by a state agency that American Commercial College had been falsifying grades, misreporting its job-placement data over several years, and tampering with records that qualified students to enroll, according to the Lubbock Avalanche-Journal. The 54-year-old college, which offers certificates in business and information-technology fields, has been under investigation by the Texas Workforce Commission.
