The Academic Senate at Los Angeles Trade-Technical College voted no confidence in President Roland (Chip) Chapdelaine on Wednesday and called on him to resign over a financial scandal at the college’s foundation, the Los Angeles Times reported. Mr. Chapdelaine has announced that he will retire in June 2013, but faculty leaders said they want him out sooner. Prosecutors have been investigating whether the head of the foundation, Rhea Chung, misused foundation money. Ms. Chung is Mr. Chapdelaine’s former executive assistant. The president has said he had no knowledge of the activities under investigation, which include payments to Ms. Chung and spending she authorized. Faculty leaders, however, say he ignored warnings about possible wrongdoing.
