A former president of a community college in Alabama was sentenced on Monday to three years’ probation and a $5,000 fine for obstruction of justice in a wide-ranging corruption investigation in Alabama’s community-college system. The former president of Southern Union State Community College, Joanne S. Jordan, pleaded guilty and cooperated in the investigation.
