Connecticut’s attorney general is asking Yale University to provide information on every endowment gift the university decides to redirect or use for a broader purpose, the Yale Daily News reports. The request, aimed at preserving donor intent, comes after Yale told the student newspaper that it was reviewing donation documents to see if some gift income could be redirected toward other expenses. Yale also capped endowed academic prizes at $1,000 and is considering whether it can use excess money for financial aid or other purposes.
