Evergreen State College has agreed to repay 13 students about two-thirds of the $2,100 they paid for living expenses during a 2008 study trip to Chile after determining that they were overcharged, The Seattle Times reported. The professor who organized the trip cannot account for at least $50,000 he collected from students and the Olympia, Wash., college for that trip and others since 2005, a spokesman told the newspaper. The professor, who could not be reached for comment, has been placed on leave pending the outcome of campus disciplinary proceedings.
