Jeremy J. Wheaton, chief executive of the Career Education Corporation’s Colorado Technical University, has resigned from his post to “pursue his own entrepreneurial interests,” the company said on Tuesday. Jack Koehn, the university’s chief operating officer, will replace Mr. Wheaton, who will remain on the university’s Board of Trustees.
Correction (7/20/2012, 1:11 p.m.): This post originally suggested mistakenly that there was a connection between Mr. Wheaton’s resignation from Colorado Technical University and recent action by the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges concerning 10 other colleges owned by the company. Colorado Tech, however, is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools, so the suggestion was in error. The post has been updated to reflect this correction.
