Chicago State Tells Its Faculty They Can’t Talk to the Media, or Use Social Media, Without Permission

Chicago State University has told its faculty and staff that only authorized university representatives can share information with the news media and that employees need to get the approval of the university’s division of public relations for any media interviews, opinion pieces, newsletters, social media, and other types of communications, according to the Chicago Tribune. Employees who violate the new policy could lose their jobs, according to a copy of the rules obtained by the Tribune.
