The Career Education Corporation, facing falling enrollments, shrinking profits, and continued scrutiny over how it reported the job-placement rates of its graduates, announced on Tuesday that it had accepted the resignation of its chief executive, Gary McCullough. The company operates American InterContinental University, Le Cordon Bleu of North America, Sanford-Brown Colleges, and other institutions in the United States and overseas.
