A panel of state judges has ruled that the Florida Legislature gets the final say on tuition rates at public colleges, according to the Associated Press. A lawsuit, filed in 2007 by a former governor, Bob Graham, challenged the lawmakers’ authority, arguing that the state’s Board of Governors should instead control what universities may charge. The case was first dismissed by a state court in 2008, and in 2010 a trial court ruled for the Legislature. Wednesday’s decision, by Florida’s First District Court of Appeal, upholds that 2010 ruling.
