The American Academy of Arts and Sciences announced on Tuesday the election of 203 new fellows and 17 new foreign honorary members. The 220 men and women, who are prominent figures in scholarship, business, the arts, and public affairs, will be inducted into the 232-year-old academy at a ceremony on October 6 in Cambridge, Mass. Among the new members are representatives of scores of colleges and universities. Complete lists of the new members, organized alphabetically and by discipline, are available on the academy’s Web site.
Correction (4/19/2012, 12:29 p.m.): This post originally stated an incorrect number of new fellows and foreign honorary members. The academy elected 220, not 230. The post has been updated to reflect this correction.
