The American Academy of Arts and Sciences announced on Tuesday the election of 196 new fellows and 16 new foreign honorary members. The 212 men and women, who are prominent figures in scholarship, business, the arts, and public affairs, will be inducted into the 231-year-old academy at a ceremony on October 1 in Cambridge, Mass. Among the new members are representatives of scores of colleges and universities. A complete list of the new members is available on its Web site.
