Accused Penn State Coach: “I Shouldn’t Have Showered With Those Kids’

Jerry Sandusky, the former Pennsylvania State University football coach accused of 40 counts of child molestation, denied sexually abusing children but said he had showered and “horsed around” with some of them, he told Bob Costas during an interview that aired Monday night on NBC. “I’ve obviously played a part in this,” he said when asked to describe his responsibility, and said he regretted the damages done to the university. “I shouldn’t have showered with those kids,” he said. But he denied being a pedophile: “I enjoy young people, I love to be around them. But no, I’m not sexually attracted to young boys.” He also said former Nittany Lions head coach Joe Paterno never spoke to him about his behavior, and never asked if he needed help or counseling.
