Raphael Golb, the accused cyberbully who faces multiple counts of criminal impersonation and identity theft in a case stemming from a scholarly dispute over the Dead Sea Scrolls, admitted in court on Monday that he wrote e-mails under the name of the New York University professor Lawrence H. Schiffman, but said he “never intended anybody to believe that these e-mails were sent by Larry Schiffman,” the Associated Press reported. Mr. Golb, a lawyer, is the son of Norman Golb, a professor of Jewish history and civilization at the University of Chicago whose views on the authorship of the scrolls differ with those of Mr. Schiffman. Taking the stand on Monday, Raphael Golb said he had done nothing illegal because his writings under Mr. Schiffman’s name and other aliases were meant as parody. His testimony is expected to continue on Tuesday.

Wait… how old is Mr. Golb?

After reading the linked article, I would be shocked if this person convinces anyone that what he did was “parody.”Agreed 22228715… “my dad’s the best and nobody better say anything different… or else I’ll begin a campaign of internet harrassment. And besides I needed to get dad SOMETHING for his birthday…”

So when I send out emails that purport to come from Raphael Golb claiming that the so-called Dead Sea Scrolls were actually created by Walt Disney Studios during a slow spell in 1940 and that they actually constitute the score and original cast of animated version of The Secret Protocols, Mr. Golb won’t be upset, right? After all, it’s obviously a parody. This is the lamest defense since “the devil made me do it.” I don’t know a thing about Norman Golb or Lawrence Schiffman, but Raphael is clearly a piece of work. He’s a “brainiac,” supposedly, but Daddy’s Little Helper could use some serious instruction in reality. No amount of intelligence can prevent us from behaving like ignorant idiots when we really put our minds to it.

Unbelievable.Wonder if Mr Golb the Younger suffers from a combination of Aspberger’s Syndrome and paranoia?
