As Indian lawmakers consider a long-awaited bill to allow foreign universities to set up campuses in India — something the country’s new minister in charge of higher education has promised — a report in Mint, a local newspaper, quotes an unnamed senior official in the education ministry as saying that about 50 foreign universities, mostly in the United States, Britain, and Australia, have expressed interest in opening such campuses. And one of the 50 is Duke University, the newspaper reports.
