4 More Trustees Offer to Resign From U. of Illinois Board

August 18, 2009, 8:26 pm

Four more members of the University of Illinois system’s Board of Trustees said they would respect the governor’s request for all nine trustees to step down in the wake of a far-reaching admissions scandal, the Chicago Tribune reported, but all four said they believed they had done nothing wrong and would like to stay on and help the university deal with its problems. Three other trustees have previously offered to resign, and the governor has accepted two of those resignations.

This is similar to cockroaches running for cover when the lights go on. And, finally, the lights have been shined on the chicanery and unethical influence pedaling of these trustees. It is time for the governor to fire the hold outs and start from scratch with people who will serve with integrity.

davi — not all of those who resigned today were involved. All universities do this to one degree or another, the IL admins were stupid to codify the process into a written document. Are you so venomous about lobbyists? How about the ones Obama hired, despite his promise that lobbyists would have no place in his administration?
