A six-month drug investigation at Texas Christian University resulted in the arrests early Wednesday of 17 students, including four football players, the Star-Telegram reported. “All of those arrested are drug dealers,” the university’s police chief, Steven McGee, said at a news conference. Marijuana, cocaine, LSD, ecstasy, and prescription drugs were among the substances being sold, he said. The Star-Telegram noted that Sports Illustrated had singled out TCU last year as the only top 25 team in 2010 on which no players had criminal records. The university’s chancellor, Victor J. Boschini Jr., said in a written statement that anyone found guilty would face immediate expulsion. The Fort Worth and the TCU police jointly carried out the investigation, which they said was continuing and could result in further arrests.
