3 U. of Alabama Students Injured in Shooting at Bar Near Campus

Three University of Alabama students were among the 17 people injured early Tuesday morning when a gunman opened fire outside a bar located about a mile from the west end of the Tuscaloosa campus, according to university officials and the local police. The Alabama Media Group reports that two of the students have been released from the hospital and the other is being treated for non-life-threatening injuries. The suspect, who authorities say used a military-style assault rifle in an attack that occurred shortly after midnight, is now in custody, according to the Tuscaloosa police department.
