In this episode, we hear from Jacki Ward, a recent graduate of the University of Puget Sound, who won a Watson Fellowship to study the circus art of contortion. In July she’ll begin a 12-month world tour, studying traditions of contortion on several continents and honing her own skills.

    Thank you for including this. It is very interesting to consider this facet of performance studies, obviously one that includes several different movement styles (yoga, dance, gymnastics, acrobatics) and cultures. Great to hear a student speaking so intelligently about in-depth studies in contortionism as performance art.
