According to my kid’s first-grade teacher, tomorrow starts week 5 of the school year, which means we’re well and truly in the thick of it. (I wish “well and truly in the thick of it” didn’t imply “musical theater by 6-yr-olds is right around the corner,” but there you are.)
This past week ProfHacker took on:
- Why to use screenshots, and why Mac users might use Skitch; how to record lectures as podcasts (Ethan); and how to use Doodle for easy scheduling and surveying (George)
- How to figure out whether you’re spending time on what you care about (Natalie), and, once you’ve identified key goals, how to Get Things Done, in the David Allen style (Nels)
- Billie offered up a recipe for pulled pork, and Natalie offered a one-minute tip for gaining energy
- We also looked at furlough days, how to use social media as a professional network, and why you might try a quick evaluation now.
Everybody be safe out there! This week, be sure to look for a series of ProfHacker posts on mentoring, building loosely on Nels’s “Pay It Forward” post from a couple of weeks back.
