I was going to make a joke here about it having been a quiet week for ProfHacker, but can’t quite pull the trigger on it. (It’s probably because I’m all meth-y.) Thanks to everyone who’s stopped by, tweeted, or blogged about the site. Hope you stick around!
In addition to a spiffy new look, and two new writers (hi, Nels! hi, Billie!) there were a few posts of interest last week:
- Nels wrote about paying forward mentorship by sharing your work with younger faculty and grad students. Earlier in the week, Brian modeled this by detailing what he wishes he would’ve known as a new teacher, and Jeff discussed the inequities of faculty workload.
- ProfHacker 101 series continued: I looked at wikis in the classroom, and Julie delved further in to the use of APIs.
- Amy explained why, if you keep a blog, you might want to move beyond the web interface and use a blogging client.
- We’re also interested in finding out how y’all manage space: Billie asked readers to post images of their bag (that’s mine pictured), and I announced a giveaway for posted images of folks’ workspace.
- And look! A podcast! With Merlin Mann!
This week you can expect a mix of posts devoted to productivity–including, crucially, not stressing about productivity!–pedagogy, and technology. (I’m particularly looking forward to the post on Friday about how to record podcasts, which I clearly should’ve read before last week!)
