Portable Power For Portable Devices

October 6, 2011, 3:00 pm

I like to use my smartphone to track my workouts on my bike, but I also like having a working phone with me in case I get a flat or have other problems. If I run my smartphone during my whole ride, however, I risk draining the battery completely.

Solution? An inexpensive, portable power source that keeps my phone powered for an extended period of time.

While I (recently) bought the power source for biking, it will also come in handy during the conferences I plan on attending this year. I don’t always remember to leave my phone (or iPad) plugged in overnight int he hotel room, and when I’ve got a day full of conference sessions in front of me the last thing I want to do is sit on the floor near a power outlet.

How about you? Have you used a similar device to keep your phone or other portable device powered? Do you have another solution? Let us hear about it in the comments!
