Get Clean HTML From MS Word Files

February 25, 2011, 8:07 am

html tattooIf you’ve ever tried to convert a Microsoft Word document into an HTML document, then you might have experienced what a mess it can make of things.

I know that there are several different ways of getting around this problem, but I recently discovered a user-friendly online tool for cleaning up the mess: a site by the name of “Text Fixer” provides “online tools for Webmasters and Web developers.” One of those tools converts Word to HTML. From within Word, highlight and paste the text you want to convert, then paste it into the Text Fixer box, and click “Convert Word to HTML.” Ta-da! In my (limited) experience it does quite a nice job.

How about you? I know there are several solutions to this problem. What are some of your favorites? Let’s hear from you in the comments!
