West Virginia University’s governing board decided last Friday to award faculty and staff members their biggest pay raise since 1993, The Charleston Gazette reports.
On October 1, wages will rise by an average of 5 percent at the Morgantown campus and at Potomac State College, according to a university press release. Over the last five years, the average annual raise has been around 2.6 percent.
The board also voted to increase pay for faculty and staff members at the WVU Institute of Technology, in Montgomery, and at WVU-Parkersburg by 3.5 percent.
