The former president of Eastern Michigan University, John A. Fallon III, is suing its Board of Regents over his dismissal, Sara Lipka reports today on The Chronicle’s Web site. Fallon, who was ousted last July for his handling of a student’s murder in December, claims that his firing broke a state law that protects whistle-blowers, she writes. He’s asking the court to reinstate him as president and award him compensation for back pay, legal fees, and damages.
