N.C. Central Chancellor Search Cost $137,000

September 7, 2007, 4:35 pm

North Carolina Central University spent $137,260 on its recent chancellor search, the Raleigh News & Observer reports.

While the cost of the four-month search that brought Charlie Nelms to NCCU last month was less than the $150,000 budgeted, it is on par with the cost of recent chancellor searches on other UNC system campuses, the reporter, Eric Ferreri, writes: “It is higher than the $121,385 that Winston-Salem State spent recently to fill its chancellorship but less than the $145,151 Elizabeth City State spent this year, according to the UNC system data.”
