The University of Colorado’s governing board has selected the Republican oilman Bruce D. Benson as the system’s next president, over the objections of faculty members and students who are skeptical of his limited academic credentials, the Associated Press reports. Depauw University’s Board of Trustees has tapped Brian W. Casey, associate dean for academic affairs at Harvard University’s Faculty of Arts and Sciences and a former Wall Street lawyer, to be the institution’s next president. He’ll replace its longtime president Robert G. Bottoms, who is retiring, The Indianapolis Star reports.
