Want to be a millionaire? Then become a football coach. According to a recent item by Brad Wolverton on The Chronicle’s News Blog, the average salary for top university football coaches is over $1-million. Wolverton notes that “this year more than 50 coaches are making more than $1-million, up from five in 1999,” while “a dozen earn more than $2-million.” And that’s not including the perks — like cars, country-club memberships, and bonuses — that many coaches get on top of their salaries.
